 The Christian cannot simultaneously carry in one hand the fleshly sword of the state and in the other hand the sword of the spirit. Only an apostate church can do this, which has lost sight of the principles of the kingdom of Christ and submits to the power of the state. After all, the 6th commandment forbids all forms of violence and bloodshed.
 Every Christian will be a good citizen; he can never be a revolutionary, but when the government requires something of him which forces him to transgress the commandments of God, then, alas, he must refuse and obey God rather than men. See also Matthew 5:44-45.
