The Testimonies for the Church - Volume 9 was written during a period of expansion of the work, the launching of new projects, and the establishment of new institutions. Much evangelistic effort was being made, old churches were being strengthened, and new churches were being established. It was a time when the various projects being undertaken called for the talents and energies of the laity. It began to become evident that this work could never be accomplished unless the laity and the ministers unitedly carried the message to the world. Following a picture of the final crisis and of events that were to take place in the closing scenes of world history, is a call to every Seventh-day Adventist to take an active part in evangelism, in missions in their own communities, and in the distribution of literature.
