In every crisis God has had faithful witnesses who stood firm for the divine truth and thereby exposed errors. Such a witness was ML Andreasen (1876-1962). He held fast to the original teaching as the pioneers had brought it forward from the Bible. He had a thorough knowledge of it with a rock-solid confidence. He was a man who was prepared to stand up for what was right, even when only a few were prepared to do so. ML Andreasen's best-known protests were later published under the name "Letters to the Church". This gives a clear picture of what took place in the fifties under the leadership of the General Conference.
